About

Spellers Center Atlanta

Spellers Center Atlanta was a founded by Dana Johnson, PhD, MS, OTR/L, an occupational therapist who believes that those with nonspeaking autism are underestimated and misunderstood. She is an expert in apraxia/dyspraxia and understands the importance of building intentional motor skills for both communication and daily living.

Dana and her team value the insight and expertise of the parents and caregivers and will work together with you to better understand your speller and what they need to reach their individual goals.

All of our practitioners and clinicians are Spellers Method trained and are ready to support your family.

Our Mission

We believe in the inherent competence of EVERY individual. Our mission is to empower and support parents and caregivers of children with neuromotor disabilities through personalized, evidence-based coaching and educational programs. We aim to provide alternatives to traditional medical care models that often overlook the individual’s competence and understanding of conditions like apraxia.

By promoting health, longevity, and informed advocacy, we strive to enhance the quality of life for families, enabling them to fully enjoy their journey with their child.
